Penne with Creamy Garlic Sauce
1 package (16 oz.) San Giorgio® Penne Rigate, uncooked
2 tbsp butter or margarine
2 large garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
3/4 cup ready-to-serve chicken broth or beef broth*
3/4 cup milk or light cream
2 tsp dried parsley flakes
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in small saucepan, melt butter or margarine; add garlic. Cook over medium heat 1 minute. Add flour; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in broth and milk or light cream. Cook, stirring frequently, until sauce boils and thickens. Add parsley, salt, pepper and cheese; stir until cheese is melted. Toss hot pasta with sauce; serve immediately. Makes 6-8 servings.
*Or, 1 chicken or beef bouillon cube dissolved in 3/4 cup water.
