Rumford Baking Powder, 8.1 oz
Rumford Biscuits
2 c. all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
6 tbsp shortening
⅔ c. milk
Preheat oven to 450°F. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk to make a soft dough. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 30 seconds. Roll dough to a ¾-inch thickness. Cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter and place 2-inches apart on a lightly greased baking pan. Bake on the middle rack for 10-12 minutes. Serve warm with butter.
Yields 8-10 biscuits
Store in cool, dry place.
For best results, use by date on bottom of can.
