Steamed blue crabs
Water
Vinegar
1 dozen live crabs
1/2 cup Old Bay® Seasoning
In a pot with a raised rack (minimum of 2 inches high) add equal quantities of water and vinegar to just below level of rack. Bring to a boil. Carefully layer crabs on rack; sprinkle each layer with Old Bay. Cover and steam 20 to 30 minutes depending on size of crabs or until crabs turn red.
Makes 4 servings.
Steamed shrimp
1/2 cup vinegar or beer
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp. Old Bay® Seasoning
1 lb. shrimp, unpeeled
Mix vinegar, water and Old Bay in saucepan. Bring to boil. Stir in shrimp. Cover. Steam 2 to 3 minutes or just until shrimp turn pink. Drain. Remove shells.
Makes 8 servings.
Maryland crab cakes
2 slices bread, crusts removed
2 tbsp. mayonnaise
2 tsp. Old Bay® Seasoning
2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. yellow mustard
1 egg, beaten
1 lb. lump crabmeat
Crumble bread into bowl. Add mayonnaise, Old Bay, parsley, mustard and egg; mix well. Stir in crab. Shape into 4 patties. Broil 10 minutes or fry until golden brown.
Makes 4 servings.
Hot crab dip
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tsp. Old Bay® Seasoning
1/2 tsp. ground mustard
1 lb. lump crabmeat
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, Old Bay and ground mustard in medium bowl until well blended. Add crabmeat; toss gently. Spread in 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle with cheese and additional Old Bay, if desired. Bake 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve with crackers or sliced French bread.

Maryland crab soup
1 can (28 oz.) whole tomatoes, cut into small pieces
3 cups water
2 cups beef broth
1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen mixed vegetables (about 3 cups)
2 tbsp. McCormick® chopped onions
2 tbsp. Old Bay® seasoning
1 pound lump crabmeat
Place all ingredients, except crabmeat, in 4-quart saucepan. Bring to boil on medium heat. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in crabmeat; Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Makes 10 (1-cup) servings.
