McCormick Golden Dipt Beer Batter Seafood Batter Mix, 10 oz
All you need:
1 cup batter mix
2/3 cup beer or water
1 1/2 lbs. fish fillets
Vegetable oil
Pour oil into deep fryer, large heavy skillet or saucepan, filling no more than 1/3 full. Heat oil to 375ºF on medium heat.
Stir
1. Batter Mix and beer or water in medium bowl until smooth.
2. Dip fish, cut into serving-size pieces, into batter. Shake off excess. Carefully add fish, several pieces at a time, to hot oil.
3. Fry 3 to 5 minutes, turning once to brown evenly, until fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork. Drain on paper towels.
Best with cod, tilapia, trout, or shrimp
To coat 3 lbs. fish fillets, use 1 box Batter Mix and 1 1/4 cups beer or water.
Serve with McCormick® Cocktail Sauce or Tartar Sauce.
Beer battered shrimp
• 1 cup Beer Batter Mix
• 1/2 tsp. McCormick® Garlic Powder
• 1/4 tsp. McCormick® Ground Red Pepper
• 2/3 cup beer or water
• 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• Vegetable oil
Stir Batter Mix, garlic powder and red pepper in medium bowl until mixed. Add beer or water and mix until smooth. Continue as directed above.
Beer battered onion rings or until golden brown.
Stir 1 cup Batter Mix and 2/3 cup beer or water in medium bowl until mixed. Slice 1 to 2 large sweet onions into 1/2-inch thick rings (about 2 cups). Dip into batter, one at a time. Fry, several at a time, as directed above, about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
