Goya Green Split Peas, 16 oz
Green Split Pea Soup
1 lb. Goya® dry Green Split Peas
1 tbsp. Goya® Olive Oil
1/4 lb. smoked ham, diced
1 tsp. Goya® Minced Garlic
1 medium carrot, diced
1 packet Goya® powdered Chicken Bouillon
1 packet Sazón Goya® without Annatto
Salt and pepper
Sort and rinse peas. In a 6 to 8 quart pot, heat oil and add ham, onion, garlic and carrots; cook 5 minutes. Add 6 cups of water, peas, bouillon and Sazón bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until peas are tender. Add more hot water if necessary. Season to taste and top with croutons, if desired. Serves 6.
