Country Turnip Greens
1/2 lb. lean salt pork or bacon, diced
32 oz. Glory® Fresh Turnip Greens
1 cup water
1 large onion, chopped
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. pepper
In a Dutch oven, cool salt pork until lightly browned. Drain, reserving 2 tablespoons of drippings. Stir the remaining ingredients into the reserved drippings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until greens are tender. Yield: 8-10 servings.
Asian Turnip Greens
16 oz. Glory® Fresh Turnip Greens
2 tsp. canola oil
1 clove garlic chopped
1/2 inch ginger chopped
1 cup chicken broth
2 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sesame oil
2 tsp. toasted sesame seeds
Add oil to pan and turn to medium-high heat. Allow oil to heat up and add ginger and garlic; sauté for 1 minute. Stir in Glory® Fresh Turnip Greens, add broth and cook with the lid on for 3-5 minutes. Reduce heat, add soy sauce and sesame oil — cook for 1-2 minutes with lid off. Turn off heat and add toasted sesame seeds.
*Add Lo Mein noodles for a meal.
