Diamond of California Chocolate Nut Pie Crust, 6 oz


Recipe

Dark Chocolate Truffle Pie
Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 4 hours 10 minutes
Servings: 8

Ingredients: 
• 1 Diamond of California® Ready to Use Chocolate Nut Pie Crust
• 1 1/4 cup half & half
• 1 tsp unflavored gelatin
• 2 cups dark chocolate chips
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
Garnish: whipped cream

Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, mix half & half and unflavored gelatin. Whisk gently to minimize clumps. Allow to soften for approximately 5 minutes.
2. Pour half & half gelatin mixture into a small saucepan. Warm on medium heat for approximately 2 minutes. Whisk while adding dark chocolate chips. Stir slowly until mixture is smooth.
3. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, stir to combine. 
4. Carefully and slowly pour into Diamond of California® Chocolate Nut Pie Crust.
5. Gently move filled crust into refrigerator for 4 hours or until set.
6. Top with whipped cream and garnish as you desire!

Chocolate Banana Cream ile
Prep time: 15 minutes
Total time: 4 hours 15 minutes
Servings: 8

Ingredients:
• 1 Diamond of California® Ready to Use Chocolate Nut Pie Crust
• 2 cups half & half
• 2 egg yolks
• 1/3 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup cornstarch
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 2 tsp unsalted butter
• 2 ripe, medium-sized bananas
Garnish: whipped cream

Directions:
1. Add half & half, egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch to a medium saucepan and whisk until the mixture is smooth and cornstarch is dissolved.
2. Warm on medium heat bringing to a simmer, whisking continuously; cook until thickened, about 6 minutes.
3. Once thick, like pudding, remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and butter. Mix well.
4. Cut bananas into 1/4" slices. Place half of the slices of bananas to the bottom of Diamond of California* Chocolate Nut Pie Crust. Top with half of the filling mixture; repeat layers.
5. Gently move filled crust into refrigerator for 4 hours or until set.
6. Top with whipped cream and garnish as you desire!
