Calabrian Pepper Pizza with Mascarpone and Italian Sausage
- 1 (17.6-oz.) DeLallo Italian Pizza Dough Kit
- 1 1/4 cups lukewarm water
- 1 cup DeLallo Imported Italian Pizza Sauce
- 2 heaping tbsp. mascarpone cheese
- 2 1/2 cups shredded provolone
- 1 cup cooked crumbled Italian sausage
- 2 Roma tomatoes, sliced
- 8-10 DeLallo Whole Calabrian Chili Peppers, stems removed
- Handful of fresh basil, torn
Follow instructions on DeLallo Italian Pizza Dough Kit to prepare pizza dough.
Preheat oven to 450°F. Divide dough into 2 equal pieces. Form pizza by hand on a lightly oiled baking pan or pizza stone.
Divide sauce and toppings between each crust. First, spread a thin layer of pizza sauce. Top with dollops of mascarpone first. Then, sprinkle with provolone and sausage. Arrange tomato slices and peppers on top.
Bake for 10-15 min., or until crust is golden and toppings are browned. Serve topped with fresh basil.
