Homemade Cannoli Cream Recipe
1 - 32 oz container ricotta cheese*
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
11/8 tsp ground cinnamon chocolate chips as garnish (optional)
Directions: Place cheese, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in a bowl. Whisk together until well blended. Add chocolate chips if desired.
*For optimal results, strain cheese in a small colander in refrigerator overnight prior to mixing. The less moisture in the ricotta cheese yields a denser cannoli cream. You may also use a cheesecloth to drain the moisture from the cheese.
